A little bit different taste from actual Japanese dishes. But except for it, it's no problem. I like to order miso soup here.

Omakase serves really good Japanese food! The sashimi and sushi taste really fresh, and the rice is cooked well too! Their servings are just right as well. The cha soba and spicy tuna salad were also really good. I haven't tasted bad sushi from them, everything's pretty good.

It's not the food, it's the staff!

Our first visit in this restaurant was very pleasing and memorable. Good food, excellent ambience and nice service: these are just a few of the things we experienced when we first visited this Japanese restaurant in Tomas Morato. These are very same expectations that we had when we decided to re-visit Omakase.

Ambience: Love the place. It was raining but place exudes a warm and comforting feel which I thought was very appealing.

Service: Not the best, nor the worst this time around. The staff were okay attitude-wise. The issue I had was they were too preoccupied with talking amongst themselves. Took a while for the food to be served and most of the dishes were already cold (Miso was bordering on warm and room temperature). Seems like the food was sitting in the kitchen for a good 10 mins before it was served. Again, the staff seemed too “busy” with other things and forgot they have customers waiting.

Food: The food was cold but was still good. I can actually imagine how it would have tasted hot/warm. Miso, Kakunidon, Saga Tofu, Salmon Katsu were all okay. As expected, the serving were generous and very tasty (but cold). I may be just a tofu freak but both the Saga Tofu and the tofu in the Kakunidon were insanely delicious. The Salmon strips were good and the braised pork (Kakunidon) just melts in the mouth. But then again, most of these were already cold upon landing on our table.

Price: For this particular visit, I would say we somewhat got what we paid for but not quite (our first visit exceeded our expectations though).

Overall: It’s a little disappointing since our first visit was nice and the only complaint I had was there were no seats inside. Their food deserves a 4 but due to the staff’s negligence, I had to give food a rating of 3. I’ve written this review not to discourage customers from visiting Omakase; instead, let this be a reminder that sometimes, their staff gets a distracted. Ask about your food right away should you feel it’s taking too long to get served.
